Everyone is welcome! Runners, walkers, wheelchair bound, blind, everyone come join us as we celebrate the Labor Day Holiday with a very special "Labor of Love" extravaganza. Enjoy the live band, great food and many, many prizes via free raffle tickets to both contestants and volunteers. For the Kids!
1K Race/Walk, Labor Day, Sept 3rd, 2012, 9 a.m.
Bring the kids out for our 1K Race/Walk. All children who participate will receive a ribbon and this event will be professionally timed with finish times and pictures posted right here on our website.
The 1K Race/Walk will begin at 9am, parents feel free to walk or run with your children at no added cost. Fee is just $15.00
Eatin' good this Labor Day... bring the entire family out for our 4th Annual Labor of Love 5k Race/Walk and enjoy great food from our sponsors. Chilis, Buffalo Wild Wings, America Bagel and Trader Joe's will be on hand serving up their deliciousness.

The Downers Grove Noon Lions Club would like to thank the guys of Tumbleweed who performed at our 2011 Labor of Love 5k Race.

Last year's event got a little... CrAzY and we loved it!
$25.00 cash prizes were given to the man, woman, boy and girl who won our Crazy Hat Contest! All they had to do was wear their most creative, original, funny, fierce and craziest looking hat on Race Day. Strut their stuff -err hat and impress our judges who scored based on originality, creativity, fierceness and overall craziness.

The Early Bird Gets the Worm... err Prize
Pre-Registration has its benefits! Starting Monday, June 6th, and on every Monday until race day we will have an "Early Bird Drawing" of one of our many nice raffle prizes to a person who has pre-registered for the race.
Raffle prizes consist of Cub Tickets, Chicago Blackhawks Jersey, Gift Certificates at stores, restaurants, fitness centers, etc. All prizes will be given out on race day. The lucky winners names will be published weekly, right here at our site.

CARA CERTIFICATION
We are pleased to announce that our Labor of Love 5K Race/Walk received the Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA) designation as a CARA CERTIFIED RACE.

The Downers Grove Noon Lions Club, of Downers Grove, Illinois, meets the first and third Tuesday of each month for lunch at Gatto's Restaurant, 5123 Main Street, Downers Grove.
We have been providing community and humanitarian services to our community for over 80 years. |
